Jim Brown

Biographical Sketch:

James E. (Jim) Brown returned home to Western North Carolina in 2008 after 39 years in oil and gas exploration and development. He and his wife Susan live in Fletcher, just outside of Asheville, NC. Jim still retains interests in oil and gas wells in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico, so he continues his profession as an independent geologist while in retirement.

Jim’s professional experience primarily includes working the Onshore and Offshore Gulf Coast, the Midcontinent and the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico. He is currently a Certified Petroleum Geologist and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Houston Geological Society, West Texas Geological Society and the Permian Basin Section SEPM. He holds BA and MS degrees in geology from NC State University.
