Mission Statement

The Mission of The Voice of North Carolina is to provide a web based forum for individuals to express ideas, perspectives and opinions on important issues and to serve as an electronic medium for communicating broadly with both fellow citizens and with elected representatives that their voices may be heard. The web site will further serve as an important resource for information essential to accomplishing the Mission and as a mass communication medium for general entertainment and promoting awareness of the many attractions awaiting visitors to North Carolina and to Pinehurst in Moore County, The Golf Capitol of America.

The Voice of North Carolina, through its division, The Charles St. James Publishing Co., also is a publisher of electronic books (e-Books) and welcomes manuscripts from authors in all genres of writing.

James J. McGillan, Chairman and CEOJim McGillan is a former trial lawyer, who practiced in Washington, DC for over 35 years. He was co-founder, Vice Chairman and General Counsel of PTAT Systems Inc. a company that together with Cable & Wireless, plc of the UK laid the first private transatlantic fiber optic telecommunications submarine cable (PTAT-1) between the U.S and the UK in 1989. He also was co-founder, Vice Chairman and General Counsel of Med-Tel International Corp., a telemedicine company headquartered in McLean, Virginia that owned and operated 25 MRI & CT radiology clinics in the U.S. and the U.K. Mr. McGillan, a former Navy JAG officer (1967-69), is admitted to practice before the bars of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, the U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals for Second Circuit (New York) and the Supreme Court of the United States. He and his wife, Kathleen, retired to Pinehurst in 2005.

Charles E. Holbrook, President and COO:Charles Holbrook is a geologist who has invested his adult life studying, applying and teaching geology. After earning bachelors’ and masters’ degrees in geology, he worked a full career in the petroleum industry with both applied science and management responsibilities related to petroleum exploration. After retiring, he taught geology courses at the college level through a private North Carolina university for four years. He has remained close to the earth sciences through studying, writing and speaking on issues related to energy and the environment. He and his wife, Jewell, retired to Pinehurst, NC.
