Bill Bateman

bbatemanBill Bateman was born in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Dublin High School, Dublin, GA in 1979 and Valdosta State College in 1983. Commissioned 2d Lieutenant in the USAF in June 1983, he entered active duty in Jan 1984. Served 22 years in the Air Force, flying fighter aircraft (F-4’s and F-16s) most of that time. He also earned a Masters in Aeronautical Science from Embry –Riddle Aeronautical University specializing in aeronautics. He retired from USAF in 2005 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Since retirement from the Air Force Bill has been employed as a pilot with Southwest Airlines. He moved from Idaho to Moore County in 2006 and resides in Southern Pines. He currently serves on the Moore County Airport Authority.

Bill, is a huge outdoor enthusiast with a passion for history, political science and anything involving aviation.
