Leslie Rose
Over the past 25 years, Leslie and Bob Rose have adored wine. After working in corporate America for most of their careers, Leslie and her husband, Bob, began making their own wine about 6 years ago. They started out making wine from kits, buying juice from all over the world and making all of the different varietals. After rave reviews from their friends and families, they decided to leave the “safe” mode of working for others and create their own business… “Sandhills Winery” of West End, NC.
On February 20, 2009, Sandhills Winery opened its doors and in the first year of business, they were nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year by the Moore County Chamber of Commerce and won the nomination in January of 2010. While starting their business in the “great” recession, they have been working very hard to grow their business. “One of the best parts of the business is the customers,” says Leslie. “They are eager to learn about wine and have fun with their weekly tastings. They love sharing their experiences and stories. Wine ==== Joy!”
Learning and growing in the knowledge of viniculture keeps wine exciting and interesting. Bob and Leslie will be taking a group to Napa, CA in March 2012, where they will be able to learn even more about the wineries that they sell in their store. It is never boring in the store! Not only do they have over 200 labels in the store, they have all the accessories and gifts that a wine lover could want. In addition, they are well known for their Gift Baskets that they make to order year round.
